(June 28, 2017 – Bend, Oregon) Around 10 a.m. on August 21, 2017 Central Oregon will go completely dark. For nearly two minutes, the sky will be black, as the moon passes between the sun and earth, casting a 67-mile wide shadow. DANI Naturals wants to commemorate this historical event with a trio of unique soy wax candles, inspired by the lunar phases and this historical solar event.
Eclipse Candle Trio
This total solar eclipse will be something people remember for years to come. It’s the first solar eclipse to go coast-to-coast since 1918 and DANI Naturals wanted to make a special remembrance token.
With scents inspired by Central Oregon, and packaged with lunar-inspired designs, the 2017 Eclipse Candle Set comes as a trio featuring High Desert Sage, Dark Musk and Amber Moon. High Desert Sage captures the feel of a warm summer night in the High Desert, with notes of evergreen, juniper and sage. It’s a crisp and clean scent that also contains warm highlights of bergamot and geranium. The Dark Musk candle incorporates red cedar and soft woods, with subdued notes of ginger, violet, kaffir lime and navel orange. The Amber Moon candle emits a fragrant mix of rich wood and amber notes. The scent is the most sensual of the three, and perfect for a night spent under the stars while waiting for the eclipse.
All of DANI Naturals candles are made with all-natural soy wax and are environmentally friendly. Soy wax is made from an all-natural and renewable source, and is biodegradable. Candles made with soy wax also have a much lower burning point, and last a lot longer so you can enjoy the commemorative scents longer.
Central Oregon is expecting an influx of an estimated 200,000 people, and perhaps up to 1 million people for eclipse 2017. Most people will be able to partially see the eclipse, but to get a full blackout, the best views are within a 67-mile wide band.
While Sisters, Redmond and Prineville all fall within the shadow, Madras has been chosen as one of the best locations to see the eclipse. Madras falls right in the center line of totality. Given Central Oregon’s climate for sunny clear skies, it’s a perfect place to catch eclipse 2017.
Hotel rooms are booked, campgrounds will be full and traffic is expected to be at an all-time high. There’s even a solar festival popping up shop in Madras. Oregon Solar Fest will be taking place in Madras, on the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. Running from Aug. 17-22, the festival will feature solar-related events, live music and more.
The Eclipse Candle Trio is the perfect way to remember Solar Eclipse 2017, and the warm nights spent in the high desert. Whether you give it as a gift or keep it for yourself for years to come, the limited-edition Eclipse Candle trio will bring back cherished memories from the morning the sky went dark.
