About Soy Wax

Soy wax is made from soy beans, and is solidified soy bean oil. It’s all natural, unlike paraffin wax. Soy wax candles are healthier to have because they burn without added chemicals, like petro soot. Soy wax candles also have a much lower melting point, so they last longer. When you burn your soy wax candles, you’re also able to enjoy cleaner, healthier air in your home, because they’re made without chemicals.

How to Care for your Candle

The ideal time to burn a DANI Naturals soy wax candle, is for three hours at a time. It’s best to limit the time to three hour periods, as any longer than that and the candle will melt faster. After three hours the glass around the candle gets too hot and the wax starts to melt faster. The wick is supposed to be the only hot element driving the wax to melt, but after three hours the heat also transfers to the glass and the candle begins to melt faster. In order to have your candle longer, it’s best to set three hour time limits.

Burn Pool

You should always make sure the burn pool is all the way around the candle before extinguishing. The burn pool is where the majority of the best fragrance comes from. A ¼ inch burn pool is ideal for emitting the most scent.

Trimming the Wick

Every time your burn your candle, it’s best to trim the wick back to about a 1/4 inch before you light it. This is important to keep your candle burning longer, and to prevent smoking and burning soot.

It’s also important to consider the placement of your soy wax candle in your home. You want to put it somewhere where it will emit scent throughout a room, but it’s important to consider that too much air is bad for your candle. Your candle is more likely to smoke and emit soot if it’s exposed to too much air or drafts.
